british cycling!!??. the BC site is £10 pre-entry £12 on the day – went through all the non-member registration palaver, go to check-out and they want £11 (£1 admin) stuff them
I wish to ride the event but I’d rather chance entry on the day and give the club the extra money ( bc probably takes a cut of that as well)

Well the 28th Feb is this Sunday and I hope your all ready for this years Bucks Road Sportive, our 5th edition of the event, due to the changes in the HQ this year it is now the Chiltern Sports and Social Club, Maple Lodge Close, Maple Cross,WD3 2SQ we have had to change the routes from last year with the start and finish run in and out altered, so make you sure you have downloaded a current course map, for those that are regulars
The HQ will be open from 8.00 am with signing on commencing from 8.15 and the event starts at 9.30. Riders will be set off in groups of 12, at approx 3 min intervals to avoid causing to much nuisance to other road users, so if you want to ride with someone in particular that will be no problem and we will try and get people to start in a group that are all aiming for roughly the same times.
The route begins fairly flattish and the hills tend to come in the second half so try and keep some powder dry!
You will be directed to park on arriving at the HQ, once parked please sign on and collect your ride number and your free energy bar or gel.
At the finish please follow the direction arrows, as the ride finishes at the HQ from a different direction that you went out by. On finishing please clock in at the HQ and obtain your finishers medal and free cup of tea when you hand your number in. There is also a licensed bar at the premises for those wishing to celebrate finishing and who are not driving. There will also be refreshments available.
In the event of needing a broom wagon there will be one available from 11.00hrs the emergency number for this is 07860 126356.
Remember this is a ride on the open road no roads will be marshalled and it is up to you as an individual to ensure you ride safely and within the constraints of the highway code. Remember you are representing you, our event and British Cycling.
The route will be fully marked with fluorescent arrows at every turn.
There are NO feed stations however there are plenty of retails outlets to stock up on drinks/food for those that do not carry enough for the ride.
Look forward to seeing you on the day
