    Bucks Road Sportive

Entries have already been coming in for this event so omake sure you do not miss out the sooner you enter the sooner your guaranteed a place.

The event is a two distance road ride the full 100km and a shorter 85 km , both rides will feature some of the iconic Chiltern Hills, it will be a tough ride for February and will avoid the main roads. Good tyres are recommended.

The event will be limited in terms of numbers with a maximum field of 300 riders. the routes will be signposted and GPS files will be available.

This will be a ride to test yourself over the distance, no food stops will be provided but there will be plenty of food at the HQ for pre and post event carbs as well as the provision of a licensed bar for those not driving back.

This event has n0w been run for the last 5 years with people complementing the event for the friendly atmisphere and well marked challenging route

This year the event has moved to a better HQ to enhance the event and this years HQ is the Chiltern Sports and Social Club Maple Lodge , Maple Cross which is easily accesible fromthe M25 /M40 which will entail a slight change to the route of last years ride

Riders will start in groups and there will be 3 times to aim for in the longest distance, 3-3.5hrs -Gold Standard, 3.5-4.15hrs Silver Standard and 4.15 to 5hrs Bronze standards

Ok rode the 85km route today, not the ideal day for a bike ride, a bit wet out there but still an enjoyable ride and the new route is good.Entries are coming in steadily so we are expecting a good field.
Going to ride the 100km route next Friday and then get both rides on the clubs Garmin page and let everyone know the exact amount of climbing.

Myself and Darren checked out the 100km route today-slightly windy and 1100 M climbing !
A couple of pot holes but generally the roads are in good condition- so get your entries in.
Will be looking for some helpers on the day for sigining on and catering -can be done around your riding, any volunteers one e-mail/post to me

    cheers Chris
