It was back to racing for a number of club riders this weekend just gone and with some success, Neil Ellison who has become a win machine this year in the Central Cross league kept up his undefeated record in the vets class taking his 8th win in 8 rides in the series so far, not surprisingly this has guaranteed him the overall win with a round to go and despite missing one counting event In the Brass Monkeys MTB race, Rick Featherston took the win with Simon Slater 2nd in the 3hr grand vets class with Jessee Kelly 13th, Paul White took 3rd in the vets and Nick Try 8th on the open event so some very impressive results.

On the social side the weather had a bit of an impact on numbers on Saturday for the social MTB ride then Sunday due to the ice the road ride was cancelled, hopefully some milder weather will come along soon and we can all get out on the road again soon without the risk of falling off.

Don’t forget we have opened a new clothing order, so if you want to order any new club kit follow the links on the club website.

Tonight Monday a few of us will be going to the Brunel Gym at 6.30 p.m. for some wt training to try and strengthen up the legs for next years riding, also tonight it is the last club night of the year, we will be meeting at 8.30 at The Crown, where hopefully we can sort out a few social rides for the Christmas period. So full details of the rides will be posted up post the meet.

Once again a few reminders, those coming on the clubs road trip to France, make sure you have booked your flights, also the 2018 clubs subs are due, so please make sure you renew promptly. Those that expressed an interest in a day at Calshot indoor track on the 18th Feb, I have booked this so now need those people to pay their deposits of £15. For those that have never ridden an indoor track before, it is a real buzz and comes highly recommended and you never know you could be the next Chris Hoy so get in touch for more details!
