Club News 29th Nov

Last weekend saw 5 of us go over to Belgium to ride the De Panne beach race, which we all enjoyed, the atmosphere at any Belgium race is good and with 800 plus riders on the start line including at least one current Tour De France rider made this unique event one of the better ones I have done. Position wise Clive Evans lead the club with a finishing position of 281st, Paul White having suffered a fall on the sand 298th, Agne Kudirkaite was 345th , I managed 359th and Gosia McPherson was 558th. Certainly an event to put on the bucket list to do.

As hopefully everyone knows by now it is our first session at Calshot this Saturday the 1st December, for those that have never ridden an indoor velodrome it is great fun and a real buzz and any standard rider will enjoy it. There is still got room for a few more to attend so if you want to come let me know, the plan is to meet at my place at 8.45 to drive down the club van and one car depending on numbers.

In the evening it is the cub annual Xmas do, with Matt and Henry taking in the reins of the organising committee I am sure it will be a good affair so don’t miss out and get in touch to get a ticket, we will be having a raffle during the evening so if anyone wants to donate any prizes let me know or just bring along on the night. The venue is the Richings Sports Park, 34A Wellesley Avenue, Richings Park, SL09 BN.

Entries have now opened for next year’s Paris Roubaix sportive, now for a few of us this is unfinished business, certainly a good weekend, a sportive on the Saturday and then watching the pros do it on Sunday, so who is keen? Post up o the club website or get in touch if interested.

There is also talk about a South Wales MTB trip in January, once again if interested post up on the club website

We also have a couple more space spaces for next year French road trip if you want to come let me know pronto and get those deposits in ASAP, full details are on the club website at

The 1 date when we get formal has also been arranged, yes the club AGM which will be held at our sponsors shop the Concept Store Ruislip on the 10th December start time TBC
