Ok its the 11th July this Sunday which means that the big event is our round of the Southern XC Series down at Bordon Hampshire , as most people know the venue is superb and the racing is always great, there is racing for all ages and abilities so hope to see a big turnout from the club including our new members who we hope to see make their race debuts. Full details can be found at pedalon.co.uk website. Club members can enter on the day, as always we need people to help out on the day and on the Saturday to help mark the cct out.Club riders riding can claim a £5 discount on signing on.
Other events this week include a ride from the Malt Shovel Wed night a ride in the Maidenhead area on Thursday evening, a beginners MTB ride Sat morning so lots of events to choose from. The following week there is a day trip to Cannock Chase, post up on the forum if you fancy joining the group. Last week it was great to see a big turnout for the club BBQ, once again a great day at a great venue and nice to catch up with some old faces. A big thanks to Jon G for sorting the meat out, Chris, Roy and Cat for doing the cooking. On the riding front there were a couple of rides over the week, the ride to the BBQ and a number of people rode the Are You tough enough event and with some success thanks to Rebecca, results as follows, 5th Frances Pressner ,1st Rebecca Pressner,8th Isaac Pucci,8th Nick Evans,15th Theo Pressner,5th Ben Connor,7th Chris Denman,4th Ceri Donovan and 18th Roy Sheppard . Elsewhere Martin T rode the nats at Dalby,on the road front Paul Crook clocked up his second win on the trot at Hillingdon. Well done to all those that took part in the Marmotte, check out the forum for full details of the event which sounded pretty brutal Most of you will have heard about Emma's quest to complete her first Iron Man in August of this year, her improvement in all disciplines this year has been tremendous and she is doing it for a very worthwhile cause so if anyone wants to dig deep the site you need is http://www.justgiving.com/iron-emski July 23/24th 12//24hr There are a few teams that require riders for teams at the 12/24 so check out the forums if you fancy having a go, I know Adrian P is looking for a fastish team, also there is a pairs 12hr entry available and maybe a solo 12hr entry available, post up if interested. August 20th French day trip -Suitable for all , Being a Friday hopefully people can get the day off easier than a mid week date, the plan is as always to drive down to Dover go over as foot passengers spend a very relaxed day in the Calais area riding along the coast on mostly off road trails -nothing to technical before a late evening return to Blightly- post up if interested. Oct 1st-5th Oct Scottish trip, looking at leaving either Fri p.m. 1st Oct or sat early a.m. 2 Oct to ride as many of the trails around the Glentress area with the idea of coming back Tuesday the 5th, Costs are N/K at present and will be dependent on numbers and what sort of Digs we can book up so post up if keen .
