Default club news 14-2-2010

There was some good results on the racing front this weekend in the Gorrick MTB event, it was difficult to decide whose ride was the best , Werners 9th in supermasters or Steve Tebbetts 6th in a competitive sports race, other results included 8th for Jon Pierce in the vets race as he made a welcome return to racing after his injury woes of last year, other results were Roy S,15th open event and Steve Brown 30th supermasters. The next round is on March 7th a week before our own Black Park XC race so hopefully we will see a better turnout from the club next time and clock up a few wins especially after another few of our excellent Saturday training sessions.

Looking back at last week it was ride city, a night ride Wednesday, road training Thursday, an MTB social ride Friday, a social ride and the training on Sat, the training once again well supported and Sunday we had the Gorrick race, the Edgware reliability ride and another well supported Social MTB ride.

Its is a busy week again this week, Monday its is club night at The Crown from 9 p.m. onwards, I will be bringing some of the spare kit down if anyone wants any shorts/tights/3/4's and also some samples of jerseys for sizing. We will be putting in another clothing order in very soon, we have samples of women's clothing and Gill S has these, I believe she is having a sizing session at her house this week so get in touch with her via the forum/private message if you want to go along.(Ladies only Roy!) Wed morning there is a 3hr road ride from the Malt Shovel leaving 10a.m.,Thursday morning I will be over at Black Park checking the race circuit out if anyone wants to join me, will be at the park at 9.30 showing the warden the planned circuit and then doing a couple of practice laps.In the evening there is road training at the Hillingdon circuit, Sat the Lookout MTB training meet 9:45a.m. at the car park or 9 a.m. at my house if you need a lift in the van.Sunday there will no doubt be a social MTB ride which will be posted up on the forum/calendar or the Willesden reliability ride for the road riders or the serious MTB riders looking for some hard endurance training.

More entries have been trickling in for our Black Park XC race , as I would like to race I am hoping that someone will volunteer to do the commentary for part of the day, all volunteers one e-mail forward. There are still a number of you that have not entered and it would be nice if you get this sorted ASAP, download a form from the website and you get a fiver discount if you send it/hand it to me prior to the closing date.

Whilst we are on about volunteers Ian Chatfield is organising our Beyond crits at Hillingdon on which are fast approaching we will need assistance with signing on as well as catering and judging. Dates are 20th and 27th March and 3rd April so put these in your diaries.Club riders entering the 3 events will be entitled to a £4 discount if they pre enter.
