Default club news 18-07-2010

On the racing front this weekend a bit sparse on the results side but it was good to see Martin Tuton take a good result with 10th place in the youth race at the Nationals so a big well done to him.

On the social side it was a busy week with a number of rides, the Wed night ride, then a host of different rides on Sunday, a number of people made the long trip to Cannock and reports suggest they had a great day, nearer to home there was an MTB training ride as well as a social ride at The Lookout.

For a number of people the big event of the year is coming up this weekend, the Bontrager 24/12, at the last count we had 55 riders taking part however a couple of people have dropped out so I have put an advert on xc racer and have had a couple of replies so if any teams are still short let me know and I will forward on their details.

WE DO NEED SOMEONE TO GET DOWN TO THE VENUE MID DAY/EARLY AFTERNOON THURSDAY TO MAKE SURE WE GET A PRIME SPOT ANY VOLUNTEERS?

Hopefully if we get a volunteer we can bag the usual site and everyone can join up right next to the track,if you have never done this event before remember to bring a chair for the pit area and mark all your kit so it does not get mixed up.

Anyone needing new/extra kit for the event I can bring some down to club night on Monday, there is likely to be a wed evening ride this week so watch the calendar page for details, I am off Wed so if anyone fancies a day ride let me know

Special trips/rides coming up

August 20th French day trip -Suitable for all , Being a Friday hopefully people can get the day off easier than a mid week date, the plan is as always to drive down to Dover go over as foot passengers spend a very relaxed day in the Calais area riding along the coast on mostly off road trails -nothing to technical before a late evening return to Blightly- post up if interested.

Sept 12th Brecon Beast - off road sportive two distances

Oct 1st-5th Oct Scottish trip, the forum has full details and I am booking this up on Tuesday and will be after deposits once I have done so.

Oct 24th RRP club enduro- Bordon

Lots of far sale/wanted items on the home site, let me know if you wish me to add anything, want anything or have sold any of the items advertised

Chris, I'm looking for some bib shorts. Was small in the Endura size, but believe the new kit is coming up smaller so I think I need medium please. Thanks, Pete
