Ok it is the first big weekend of the year for the club when we promote the annual Black Park XC races with some great prizes provided by Beyond/The Feed station and Dirt Divas.
Still a few club members that have not entered yet only a day to go if you want to claim your club discount,forms are on the download section of the site. At the end of the day we will be having team photo so make sure you stay around and bring your cameras.A reminder of race times

On line entry is available at www.xcracer.com until Tuesday after that it is enter on the day

We had a ride around the cct on the 6th tracks apart from one water splash at the bottom of a drop off and a very short 2 m section just before the bridge it is fast and dry with a lap distance of 3.1 miles

There will be a day time ride round the course on Tuesday morning for anyone interested and we will be meeting at the park at 1.30 p.m. to mark the course out on the sat all help accepted as will all help on Sunday to check out all the course is still correctly marked and with putting up the podium/banners/flags etc.

On the racing front this weekend it was the Gorrick,good courses, well organised but no podiums and prizes on the day always lets them down and given the numbers they get they could afford to give out some big prizes.We need at least another 50 riders to break even so make sure all your friends and family come along to take part , remember we even have a beginners race which currently has more prizes than riders!

Club results from the Gorrick were as follows so well done to all that took part. Jackie Roberts was first to register a win, riding in the veterans race she showed that she is returning to her best form as she lead from start to finish .Karen Sawkins riding in the fun race also took a win, in the open race Steven Tebbett finished 5th, Chris Denman 9th,Roy Sheppard 19th , Stuart Bicknell 23rd and Ben Aldridge 33rd in the women's race Rachael Denman took 8th.In the fun men's race over 2 laps of the 5 mile circuit James Shell was best club finisher in 9th with Matt Wood 18th , Anthony Ward 20th.In the grand vets Brent Skinner making his club debut was 13th.There was some more good results in the youth race with Isaac Pucci 3rd but the ride of the day was from Martin Turton , Martin who should have been riding the 2 lap youth race elected to ride the sports race and finished 3rd place.Also a big well done to Sherlee who rode the WLC 10 mile TT on Sunday.

Elsewhere over the week there were a number of social rides, a well supported Sat ride to Black Park, a ride around part of the Bucks off road sportive course, a training session at the Hillingdon CCT as well as a good turnout at the pub night.

Looking ahead this week there is an MTB night ride Tuesday,road training Thursday, meet at 6 p.m. then of course the race Sunday followed by pub night on Monday.

Ok now the Welsh trip, myself and Darren are going for 5 days if anyone wants to joins us let me know ASAP the plan is as follows
Monday 22nd early a.m. Drive to Coed Brenin complete one of the shorter trails overnight stay at Coed Brenin
Tuesday 23rd -Full Day at Coed Brenin -overnight Coed Brenin
Wed Day 24th Drive to Nanty yr Arianrd trail cente then drive to overnight stop at Brechfa
Thurs 25th Day at Brechfa then stay overnight at Brechfa
Fri 26th Drive to Afan and meet those that just fancy Fri before driving home Fri evening

A number of people are going down just for Thur/Fri/Sat or a combination of some of these days, the club van is available if anyone requires the use of it, if anyone is going to meet us Thursday then let me know as our plan is to do the red route and we would be aiming to start around 9:30 ish. Friday I was planning to do the W2 route leaving the trail centre at 10:30 ish

Anyway the Sun is shining so time to enjoy it, see you at the Black Park race Sunday !
