Well for most it was the 24/12 and what a great event, a good course which stood up remarkably well considering the weather, everyone has there fave bits and some not so good bits but the whole w/end has a great atmosphere and to my mind is much more in the spirit of fun mountain biking then the MM and is an event you should all do at least once or like a number of us every year.

On the results side Steve and James were the only winners with a tremendous ride in the 24 hr Pairs, other podiums included Gill,Michelle,Emma and Guest Caroline, 2nd 12hr team a position replicated by Frances and Theo in the 24 mixed,3rd inthe Women's open for Rachael, Sarah, Cat, Teresa and guest Abi, there were a number of other good rides and full club results are up on the bonty forum post.Post event a few people need to pay for kit they took and I also have most of an Avid bleed kit that was left in the van if anyone wants to claim it.

On the road front on Tuesday Paul Crook missed the break of 4 riders at Hillingdon but was at the front of the bunch sprinting for 5th with Sam Grant not far behind him.

Looking ahead to this week Wed night is the final round of the Summit series and in the fun and youth category there is free draw for a Specialized Mountain Bike, so get along and enter, you never know you could be the winner! Anyone going from the Uxbridge area I have a jersey for Isaac who is racing which needs to be taken along

Saturday - we have a social ride from the Malt Shovel, the idea if we get a good turnout will be to split into ability groups so should be suitable for all, post up if keen or for more details.Sunday I am sure there will be another social ride so watch the calendar/forum for details.

For a small select few Sunday is the highlight of the cycling year as Colin, Emma,Jon and Carl check there form out in one of the toughest one day events, the iron man triathlon at Bolton so good luck to them, remember Emma is doing the event for charity so why not sponsor her.

A number of special rides coming up

August 20th French day trip -Suitable for all , Being a Friday hopefully people can get the day off easier than a mid week date, the plan is as always to drive down to Dover go over as foot passengers spend a very relaxed day in the Calais area riding along the coast on mostly off road trails -nothing to technical before a late evening return to Blightly- post up if interested.

Aug 27th Alps trip a few people still owe for this if they could settle up ASAP

Sept 12th Brecon Beast - off road sportive two distances a number of people muttering about going and camping down on Saturday

Oct 1st-5th Oct Scottish trip, the forum has full details, 12 people have been booked, 2 spaces left although if more people are interested maybe able squeeze a few more in.

Oct 24th RRP club enduro- Bordon lets hope we get a great turnout as we did for the 12/24 , club riders entering on line at XC racer will get a £5 subsidy when they sign on subject to us attracting reasonable field

Still got some club clothing in stock get in touch if you want anything

Lots of far sale/wanted items on the home site, let me know if you wish me to add anything, want anything or have sold any of the items advertised

cheers Chris

Just a quick thanks to all those who cheered us on, made cups of tea or washed our bikes. Without doubt that was the toughest 24hrs I've spent on the bike and all these little things make it a little more bareable. :)

It was great with so many turning out from the club, several riders commented to me how many of us there were, and even the announcer made several quips about us turning up en masse.
Great publicity for the club and our sponsors, I don't think there is a picture out there without a glimpse of black and yellow in it.
Congrats to all the podium riders.

Given the size of the club and the number of categories we did not have anyone entered in we could/should get even more people down there next year.

With some choice team entries we could easily clean up in the mixed 12 & 24 hour categories. You might not get to ride with who you want to but you'll win
