We start of this weeks club news by wishing everyone a happy New Year, hopefully people are penciling in some epic events to do, there are some great events out there, its just a matter of research and taking the plunge and entering them. Last years highlights for me were the clubs Spanish road trip, including the Covadonga , the Vosge MTB trip, the Tour of Flanders Sportive and the Courcelle 3hr MTB race, all totally different events but all great in their own way..Hopefully we can find some similar events to do this year with the clubs Alps road trip already set in stone and for a few of us the Majorca 312km Sportive. One trip we do need to start booking is the MTB coast to Coast which we are provisionally planning for early April, so if you have been thinking of coming its time to commit also after competing the excellently run Tour of Flanders last year the same organisation run the Liege Bastogne Liege sportive, which this year is on the 22nd April, the event has 3 distances to take part in, 75km,156km and 273Kms It would mean going over on the Friday fairly early , riding the sportive Saturday and coming back Sunday, depending on numbers we could take the club van or a car, anyone else interested?

Don’t think anyone was racing last weekend but hopefully after this weekends Brass Monkeys event and the resumption of the Central cross league there should be some racing news next week.

Ok plans for this week, Wed the usual evening MTB social ride is on after a short break over the Xmas period, Saturday the plan is to take part in the Trail Breaks MTB ride around the Guildford Area, I am away but the club van will be available if people need transport, Sunday as well as the MTB racing there is a road ride planned, meet Malt Shovel 9.30 a.m
