After a blank weekend last week this week on the race results front there was¬† a 3rd place for Sean Downey in the final round of the Central Cross League and although Neil was off form in the last race, over the season his consistency saw h…im take 2nd overall while Sean’s consistency saw him place 3rd overall,.In the Tring to town running race Colin at his first attempt at this epic finished in the top half so a well done to him. On the riding front last week, Sat there was a social MTB ride to Black Park , a training session at the same venue then Sunday two road rides, a training ride which went over the new course for the Bucks Road reliability ride and a social road ride. This Tuesday there was also a big turnout for the road training at Hillingdon, this is going to carry on till the racing starts so if you have not made it down there why not try and make it next Tuesday, all standards welcome. Ok looking ahead to this week, Sat we have the MTB training at Black Park, meet at Go Ape 9:45, the plan is to do a 90 minute hard session around the proposed race circuit, there will be a social ride out to the Park as well, meet 9 am at the Malt Shovel. Sunday instead of the normal road training ride the plan is t take part in the Team Quest Reliability Ride which starts from Ickenham Guide Hut at 9:30, hopefully someone will also post up a social ride either MTB or road, for the MTB racers it is the final round of the Brass Monkeys winter series so good luck to those taking part. Then the following Tuesday road training at the Hillingdon CCT 6-8 pm On the horizon is the Calshot velodrome trip, as those that have gone before this is a real buzz hurtling round a wooden indoor banked track if anyone wants further details and or wants to come get in touch, it is suitable for all abilities and this is the only chance you have as we only have the one session booked this year. Also remember that to complement the club website and FB page we now have a twitter account, full details are on the website, as previously stated the first stop for club info should be the club website and anyone organising rides should put them on the calendar page of the club site so that all members however social media¬† adept they are they should be able to find out about the club rides. Thanks to those that have paid their club membership , still a few of the regulars who need to lengthen their arms and dig deep into their pockets, BACS transfer is the best option, but cheques/cash are accepted Don’t forget entry to our open events, the BRR,the Black Park XC races and the Bucks Off Road Sportive are now open, so spread the word.Cheers Chris
