The race news this week is a bit sparse without any MTB races taking place, but it was the National Cyclo Cross champs and it was great to see the clubs Neil Ellison taking part in this, the most prestigious CX race of the season and finish…ing a very respectable 43rd. I am sure that if Neil keeps improving as he has done this year it will be a sub 30th place next year. Training wise we started the Tuesday night sessions last week, a poor turnout for the first but hopefully over the next few weeks as people get keener we will see more people coming along. The idea is that people get there for 6 or as soon after 6 as they can and the training goes on till 8, so hopefully there will be a few more out next week, also on the training front there were 5 out for the first Sat morning MTB training session at Black Park which consists of at present 90 mins of fast laps of variations of the race circuits we have used previously, nice to see Olly a new member turning up and making this his first club ride. The road training ride on Sunday was well supported and a good 3hrs of training was completed.  Also Sunday a few from the club rode the Westerly Reliability Ride, not sure of the wisdom of riding down the icy lanes which I saw in the photos, remember 2 people from the club are already laid off the bikes for a while due to crashes on ice so consider that if the roads are looking a bit dodgy.  Socially Sunday there was a well supported MTB ride lead by club stalwart Wayne which from the state of Karens bike was a trifle muddy Looking ahead to this week I missed this Tuesday road training due to work but hopefully a few more were tempted down, Sat we have two MTB rides a social ride to Black Park. Meet 9.30 malt shovel for a 2 hr approx ride with a stop highly likely. Mtb fitness training meet 10 am Go Ape. Sunday there is a 3.5 to 4 hr road ride meet at 9.30 Malt Shovel, hopefully there will be a good turnout and then there will be the option of having two ability groups, then Monday it is club night at The Crown PH from 9 p.m. Onwards Also the good news is that to complement the club website and FB page we now have a twitter account, full details are on the website, but remember the first stop for club info should be the club website and anyone organising rides should put them on the calendar page of the club site so that all members however social media  adept they are they should be able to find out about the club rides. Also remember the date for the Calshot trip is approaching these normally go two ways we either have to much interest or not enough so post up on the forum if your coming and going to join those going including Paul Williams who is hoping to make this his first ride after breaking his wri
Also a  big thank to Lyndon who helped with the track clearing at BP this week, just need a couple ore sessions then the proposed circuit for the May/June races will be ready
Also a big thanks to those that have paid their club subs ,hopefully I will see you all out on a ride soon. Don’t forget entry to our open events, the BRR,the Black Park XC races and the Bucks Off Road Sportive are now open, so spread the word.Cheers Chris
